OOC PERMISSIONS

Player: Shana

Preferred Contact: plurk: [plurk.com profile] antivillain, discord: antivillain#2451

Usual tagging times/pace: EST, medium pace. Tags rarely end up more than three days old.

Backtagging: Of course!

Fourthwalling policy: I would be very surprised if this comes up, but sure! I have no problem with it.

Action vs. Prose: Either

Offensive Subjects & Triggers: None specifically

IC PERMISSIONS

Physical Violence: Pretty comfortable, but let's really talk about it.

Mental Information: Toby's seen some shit. I'm cool threading it out but again, let's talk OOCly first.

Physical Affection: I'm down if it makes sense!

IC Triggers: Nothing in particular.

Relationships: I'm open to any and all CR, though she might be slow to make romantic connections.

Are you interested in participating in the game's smut opt-ins? I'm open to it, though it will take a while before October is into it.

If yes, please state your preferences: F/M or F/F or F/NB all acceptable! Ages are weird with Fae, so she's pretty flexible there, but they have to be pretty emotionally mature.

POWER-SPECIFIC AND/OR SPOILER PERMISSIONS

Toby's blood magic has lots of uses, but the one that she'll be using most frequently is her ability to sense the balance of the blood. Or more precisely, to sense what species a person is. It's pretty subtle and most people don't know she's doing it when she does, as the only outward sign is that she opens her mouth a bit to "taste" it.

In her world, she's only used the ability on Fae, since no non-Fae supernatural creatures have shown up, but I'm going to extend it to non-Fae here. She won't know what a vampire or werewolf feel like at first, for instance, but she won't forget once she learns. I'm gonna also say that different canon creatures have a slightly different taste, though not enough to be unrecognizable.

She can also smell magic and recognize who cast a certain spell by the particular smell left. For instance, her own magic smells like copper and cut grass, while the Tybalt's magic smells like pennyroyal and musk. Feel free to make up some sort of combination for your character!

She has other powers, too, like her ability to see a person's memories by tasting their blood, or her ability to actually change the balance of the blood, but she's very unlikely to use these abilities unless it comes up in a plot, in which case it would be better to discuss it then, as I'd need specific information in that case.

I realize that such knowledge can be pretty info moddy if not dealt with carefully, so I intend to check with other muns before having her use any abilities. To speed that along, however, I have made this handy dandy permissions post!

Character Name: Mollymauk Tealeaf

Species: Tiefling! They're descended from devils so they're... kind of like... If Satan is your Firstborn, then you get tieflings. In a way.
Can your character do magic? If yes, what does the magic smell like? In a sense?? He can perform two spells, but his weird blood powers are magic. We've established this. His magic smells like blood and some kind of foreign spice that Toby wouldn't recognize because it comes from Marquet, but smells a little bit like cinnamon.
Are you ok with Toby trying to sense these things? Yes.
Other notes: No matter what she does, she's always gonna get some Lucien memories in there, because BLOOD DON'T FORGET.

Character Name: Trafalgar Law

Species: Human
Can your character do magic? If yes, what does the magic smell like? Law has an ability that's effectively magic! To sum it up in the simplest terms it's matter manipulation within a fixed radius. As far as the smell... I'm thinking ozone and anise.
Are you ok with Toby trying to sense these things? Absolutely.
Other notes: Law's eaten something called a "Devil Fruit" that in addition to giving him these special powers, makes him critically weak to sea water. Given that it's a physical reaction maybe his blood would be slightly different?

Character Name: X’rhun Tia

Species: Miqo’te
Can your character do magic? If yes, what does the magic smell like? Yes, X’rhun is an accomplished mage! His magic is a mix of the two more prominent schools in his world, so it’s probably a mish-mash of pleasant, earthy and airy smells and darker things like brimstone and ozone. No one smell is stronger than the other and it’s all very balanced.
Are you ok with Toby trying to sense these things? Of course! He’s an open book and he’d find if fascinating once he learns she can do it.
Other notes: Magic in X’rhun’s world is primarily done through the manipulation of a force called aether. Most mages use the ambient aether around them to cast spells, but red mages like X’rhun use their internal sources of aether. Probably not too notable unless she runs across the other magic users from his world (Krile and Alphinaud specifically) and can make the comparison. Otherwise… idk he’s a cat man have fun with that?

Mmmmmaybe only vaguely so. Miqo'te themselves are not inherently more or less magically-inclined than most of the other races from his canon (it would be easier to list the races from his world that can't use magic #justfantasymmothings) so he wouldn't be very fae-like. He's more like a human crossed with a cat, and it just so happens he's a mage.
